3 miles W of Padstow
Most prominent headland on the north coast
This beautiful and rugged part of Cornwall's north coast shows the view towards Trevose Head and its Lighthouse. The prominent beach is Constantine Bay with Booby's Bay just beyond.
The area is well known for its beautiful walks and is situated between two of the areas nicest beaches. Mother Ivey's is a lovely beach and as car parking is not available the beach does not become over crowded. To the other side of the head is Booby's Bay and Constantine Bay. These beaches are very popular with local surfers and are backed by sand dunes and a golf course. The new Padstow lifeboat station opened in 2006 is located on the east side of Trevose Head.
The area is very popular with local photographers especially the famous 'Round Hole'. The hole used to be a cave until the roof collapsed and formed the now visible 'Round Hole'. The lighthouse on the end of the head was built in 1847.
The cliff tops abound with wildflowers and butterflies - this is great walking country.
